Am I Too Curious? (Spoiler: It’s ADHD)

Ever Google something random at midnight, then fall down a rabbit hole that ends with 12 Audible downloads and 17 tabs open?

Same.

I used to think I was just scattered… or “bad at finishing things.”
Turns out, it was ADHD.
And it didn’t make me less curious. It made me more.

ADHD = Curiosity on Caffeine

ADHD brains crave novelty. We get a dopamine hit from new ideas, weird facts, and unexpected connections.
It’s not a flaw—it’s fuel.

We don’t just want to know how something works… we have to. That spark? That’s how we stay engaged with life.

But Sometimes… Curiosity Backfires

Yep. Even the good stuff can go sideways.
Here’s how:

🔁 Rabbit holes
“I wonder why flamingos are pink” → 3 hours later → You forgot to eat.
➡️ Productive procrastination.

🌀 Too many interests
Start 12 projects. Finish 0.
➡️ Burnout from chasing dopamine.

⚠️ Risky moves
Try it just to see what happens.
➡️ Impulsivity + curiosity = yikes.

😰 Brain overload
Too much input = decision fatigue, brain fog.
➡️ Mental clutter.

💬 Social slip-ups
Ask too many personal questions or interrupt because you're so excited.
➡️ Well-meaning intensity mistaken for rudeness.

So… Is Curiosity Bad?

Not even close.
But unfiltered curiosity? That’s a lot to carry.

The trick is learning to channel it—like turning a wild river into a steady current.

Because when we do?
That curiosity becomes our edge.
